Analog Adventures: Test Rolls & Tiny Journeys

Analog Adventures: Test Rolls & Tiny Journeys

For some time now (close to 3 years), together with Łukasz Malec, we’ve enjoyed testing old cameras. To do this, we head out into the field – sometimes alone, sometimes with company. Although Łukasz’s illness makes it challenging, we walk as much as he can manage and take photos with different cameras.

Here, we tested a Praktica. Unfortunately, as you can see from the photos, the camera struggled with proper film advancement, had trouble keeping accurate shutter speeds, and even tore the film at one point. This meant we had to push-process the film during development. The verdict? The camera needs repairs.

But despite the technical issues, the outing was a success – we had a great time together, and that’s what truly matters.

Soon, I’ll introduce you to Łukasz and share his story. What I can say for now is that he’s an incredible person – battling his illness but never giving up, always moving forward, and helping others along the way.
