Vader in Belfast

Vader in Belfast

Vader is a pioneering Polish extreme metal band formed in 1983 in Olsztyn. Though often associated with black metal due to their early sound and imagery, they are more accurately categorized as a death metal band with thrash and black metal influences. Vader is widely regarded as one of the most important and enduring bands in the global death metal scene, as well as a key player in the development of extreme metal in Poland.

In simple words
– Heavy use of fast-paced riffs, blast beats, and aggressive vocals.
– Influences from thrash metal (e.g., Slayer) and early death metal (e.g., Morbid Angel).
– Occasional incorporation of melodic and atmospheric elements.

– Lyrics often explore dark themes, including war, death, occultism, and anti-religious concepts.

Impact and Legacy
– Helped to establish Poland as a hub for high-quality extreme metal.
– Inspired numerous Polish and international bands in the death and black metal scenes.
– Maintained a consistent presence in the global metal community for over four decades.

Vader’s longevity, relentless energy, and commitment to their craft have earned them a loyal fanbase worldwide and solidified their status as legends in the extreme metal genre.

Few of my pictures from the gig in Belfast (part of Vader 2023 tour), with Vomitory, Skaphos and Aetherian as their support.
